JAZZ.FM91is Canada’s only 24/7 all jazz broadcaster and charitable arts organization. We are committed to entertaining, inspiring and uniting our local community and the global jazz community we serve through programming, live performance, storytelling, education and outreach.
We believe jazz is unifying at its core and we are seeking a passionate and skilled Grant Writer to join our team and help secure funding to support our charitable initiatives and innovative programming.
Reporting to the General Manager and collaborating with our leadership team, you will play a pivotal role in bolstering JAZZ.FM91’s fundraising efforts by researching, writing, and submitting compelling grant proposals to government agencies and foundations. Your work will directly contribute to enhancing public appreciation for jazz music, providing vital access to artists, and creating opportunities for the next generation of musicians.
What you’ll do:
- Be prepared to conduct research to identify applicable grant opportunities from both government and non-government sources including Foundations.
- Develop, write and submit high-quality grant proposals, letters of inquiry and reports.
- Collaborate with internal teams to gather relevant information for applications, including program data, budgets, and impact metrics.
- Maintain a grants calendar to track deadlines, submissions, and reporting requirements.
- Ensure all grant applications and supporting documents are submitted on time and in accordance with the grantors’ guidelines
- Maintain accurate records of all grants submitted and received.

Qualifications and Experience
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in grant writing in the non-profit sector, preferably in the arts or education sector.
- Exceptional writing, editing and storytelling skills, with the ability to craft persuasive narratives.
- Strong research and analytical skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or Google Suite.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
- Preferred candidate will be well-versed in current guidelines and expectations of Canadian government grant sources in the non-profit arts cultural sector.
- Passion for music, arts, and community engagement.
