When: May 2024 – December 2024

Location: Napanee, Ontario – Ideal for students living in Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox and Addington as well as Hastings and Prince Edward Counties.

Students living outside of these areas who are willing travel to be onsite 2-days per week will also be considered.

Placement Description:

First Light Therapy is a counselling and psychotherapy clinic in Napanee Ontario that operates from an integrative approach using emotion focused therapies in combination with relational and cognitive based therapies including DBT, CBT, and RO-DBT. First Light Therapy specializes in Trauma work, Grief, Eating Disorders, Addictions, Attachment and family therapy, emotion regulation work and Anxiety/Mood disorders. We are looking for Practicum Students for May 2024.

As a clinical supervisor, I am trained in Emotion Focused Therapies, Internal Family Systems and Relational therapies and Somatic Experiencing as well as CBT, DBT, and RO-DBT. I am a certified EFFT therapist and caregiver workshop facilitator which presents additional opportunities for students. I have been Supervising students for 8 years and specialize in trauma and eating disorders.

Students must have flexibility in their schedule and must have some training and experience working with trauma and grief. Students will receive free office space, free training and free supervision during the course of the practicum and will leave their practicum with a healthy caseload to start their own private practice. No income will be earned during this practicum.
