About the Client Support Intern:
Hi, I’m Kathleen, the People Operations Manager here at Venture for Canada (VFC). I’ll be leading the recruitment for this new opening. Reporting to the Manager of Fellowship Programs, the Client Support Intern will support the maintenance of our admissions and client support processes for our Fellowship Program!
You’ll be joining our Program Management Team, which oversees all of our program participants.. You’ll have a direct impact on Venture for Canada’s program offerings by engaging with our participants and ensuring their needs are met, as well as proactively evaluating the effectiveness of our external communications and systems.
This is role is part of VFC’s commitment to fostering work-integrated learning for Canadian students, in addition to gaining valuable hands-on experience, interns will also receive 1×1 mentoring from our Director of People Operations and Finance, a curated set of learning materials, and participate in professional development groups to further advance skill development. These skill development sessions will focus on relationship building, time management, objective-based working styles, delegation, project planning and execution, working in small teams, and more!
This is a contract position and employment is contingent on funding approval.
Please note, to be eligible for this position, you must:
- be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment; and,
- have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations; and,
- be 30 years of age or younger at the time of the internship.
Role Responsibilities
- Lead the job board administration systems;
- Assist with the Fellowship Application launch and innovations;
- Update collateral, contracts, annual reports, and email communications;
- Conduct an internal review (and assist with any changes) of all admissions and client support content with a lens of accessibility considerations;
- Support client support team with job clinics, job board innovations, and partner-employer relations;
- Any other reasonable duties requested by VFC.
Job Requirements:
- Interested and invested in excellent customer success, including clear and succinct verbal and written communication, and rapid response times;
- Passionate about the Canadian startup ecosystem
- Creativity, critical thinking, ability to ‘think outside the box’ with design recommendations;
- Super organized and recognize that attention to detail can make a big difference;
- Collaborative as well as independent;
- Proven ability to embrace a digital environment and remote work and still contribute to culture;
- Strong writing and editing skills;
- Interest in inclusive admissions processes;
- Ensure that proper documentation is captured, maintained, understood by and available to staff and/or partner organizations;
- French is an asset;
- Proficiency with Google Workspace/Gmail, HubSpot, Slack, Zoom, and Notion are assets;
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.

Venture for Canada is committed to providing equal pay for equal work with salaries in line with industry standards. The salary for this position is $770/week.
Location: Virtual, home office must be within Ontario.
