New Tide Counselling & Consulting is a team of professionals who provide counselling services for individuals, couples, families, and groups, as well as an array of consulting services in the health, human, and social service sector.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Mental Health Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various therapeutic modalities and a genuine passion for helping individuals navigate their mental health journeys. This position requires a majority of the services to be delivered in person, however virtual services are delivered on an as needed basis. While the home office is located in Miramichi, opportunities to provide services in other locations such as Bathurst, Pabineau First Nation, and Burnt Church (Esgenoôpetitj) First Nation may be required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individual, couples, group, and family therapy to clients of all ages.
• Provide a range of mental health supports offered through New Tide Counselling & Consulting Ltd.
• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans.
• Conduct initial assessments and ongoing evaluations.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care.
• Participate in regular supervision and staff meetings.
• Stay current with developments in mental health research and best practices.

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Psychology, Counselling, Social Work, or a related field.
• Current and valid registration with college or association or ability to register (CCPA, CCTNB, NBASW, etc.)
• Previous clinical experience is considered a strong asset.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in evidence-based therapeutic techniques.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development.
• Bilingualism (French/English) is considered a strong asset.
