Trinity Square Video (TSV) is a Toronto-based, non-profit artist-run centre dedicated to supporting media arts creation, education, and presentation. Since 1971, TSV has provided access to professional-grade equipment, editing facilities, and workshops, fostering collaboration among artists, filmmakers, and digital creators.
Looking ahead, TSV is expanding its focus to include emerging technologies like artificial intelligence (AI) and virtual production, aiming to push the boundaries of media arts and offer new tools for creative expression. This forward-thinking approach aligns with TSV’s commitment to innovation, inclusivity, and amplifying underrepresented voices in the arts.
Job Summary:
The Programming and Outreach Assistant will support Trinity Square Video’s presentation and education initiatives. The assistant will work within a team structure to organize programming and outreach activities that engage the community, promote inclusion, and enhance TSV’s exhibitions and workshops. Various curators will be hired on a project basis to support exhibition and curatorial needs, and the assistant will play a key role in collaborating with them.
This position is ideal for individuals passionate about art, community engagement, and creative programming, with a desire to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic, supportive environment.

Roles and Responsibilities:
The Programming & Outreach Assistant will:
- Assist with researching and arranging community outreach initiatives to inform gallery, premieres and workshop activities.
- Collaborate with curators to coordinate and create discursive programming to complement scheduled exhibitions, screenings and workshops
- Identify and research project-based grants, funding opportunities, and potential partnerships to enhance resources.
- Support gallery activities and event activities, including assisting with the installation and de-installation of artists’ work, preparing for openings/premieres, workshops, and events.
- Create and promote education and outreach activities through social media, online platforms, and public speaking engagements.
- Represent TSV at meetings and public events in a professional and inclusive manner.
- Uphold organizational policies, including Human Resources, Anti-Harassment, Anti-Discrimination, and Confidentiality policies.
- Ensure the workspace remains safe, inclusive, and welcoming for all participants.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
Qualifications:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with community outreach, programming, or event coordination is an asset.
- Familiarity with grant-writing and funding research is a bonus.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
