The job is on site at Yonge and Lawrence in Toronto, Ontario several days per week and usually one day a week in Mississauga. The position is paid and is part-time. The position does not require any formal training. The position requires good interpersonal skills and proficiency in writing detailed reports.

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented psychology student to join our private practice as an assistant. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a professional setting while developing your skills in client interaction, administrative tasks, and project management. The ideal candidate will possess a strong combination of technical proficiency, excellent interpersonal abilities, and exceptional organizational skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize software such as Microsoft Word, Excel  and data management tasks.
  • Accurately enter and manage numerical data, maintaining a high standard of precision.
  • Draft, proofread, and edit written materials, ensuring proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
  • Manage and prioritize multiple tasks, ensuring the timely completion of projects within established deadlines.
  • Follow established processes and maintain documentation with a detail-oriented approach.
  • Work independently while adhering to clear directions and established guidelines.
  • Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients, including individuals who may be distressed.
  • Build rapport with clients and maintain a professional demeanor.
  • Provide clear, directional communication in person with individuals and groups, such as interpreter-evaluee pairs.

Qualifications:

  • Current or recent enrollment in a psychology program or related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and PDF editing software.
  • Strong writing and editing skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines reliably.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate compassionately and effectively in challenging situations.
  • Professionalism and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including rapport-building and directional communication.
