About the Role
Yorkville University is seeking passionate and reliable Student Ambassadors to represent the university as front-line student leaders. As a Student Ambassador, you’ll support a vibrant campus life by assisting fellow students, collaborating with departments, and promoting inclusive engagement opportunities.
This is an excellent role to build leadership, communication, and service-oriented skills in alignment with Yorkville’s Signature Learning Outcomes (SLOs). Your contributions will help shape a welcoming, informed, and empowered student community.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact for students on campus by providing directions, responding to inquiries, and sharing timely and accurate information about university services and facilities — contributing to a supportive and service-oriented campus environment.
(SLOs: Self-Aware, Professionally Engaged) - Conduct engaging campus tours for prospective and new students, highlighting Yorkville’s academic, social, and support services to promote belonging and retention.
(SLOs: Persuasive, Socially Responsible) - Support departmental initiatives by collaborating with Student Success, IT, Admissions, Marketing, and OSRR during orientations, events, and outreach campaigns.
(SLOs: Collaborative, Adaptable) - Coordinate and promote events such as cultural celebrations, student-led activities, strengthening community spirit and cultural awareness.
(SLOs: Socially Responsible, Creative) - Assist with content creation and communication via social media, student newsletters, and digital platforms to increase awareness of student services and events.
(SLOs: Digitally Capable, Persuasive, Creative) - Deliver basic technical support, including assistance with MyPath and other platforms, to support student adoption of university digital tools.
(SLOs: Digitally Capable) - Collect student feedback and share it with relevant departments to advocate for continuous improvement in student experience.
(SLOs: Self-Aware, Collaborative) - Provide logistical support during peak periods like orientation, ensuring smooth delivery of student services.
(SLOs: Adaptable, Professionally Engaged) - Maintain professional conduct and uphold values of inclusion, respect, and confidentiality in all interactions.

Required Skills and Qualifications
- Enrolled in an on-campus Yorkville University program with a minimum of two complete terms, 3.2 CGPA, and under 120 credits.
- Demonstrated involvement in student organizations, leadership roles, or extracurricular initiatives is a strong asset.
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable presenting and engaging with diverse student populations.
- Strong customer service mindset with a genuine desire to support others.
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and adapt in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Technologically proficient with Microsoft Office 365 (Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook); familiarity with Trello, Canva, and Dayforce is an asset.
- Committed to personal and professional growth and willing to participate in training and development initiatives.
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently and in team settings.
Training and Development
Student Ambassadors will participate in a structured professional development journey, including:
- Mandatory onboarding and training sessions, with at least three professional development courses per term.
- Leadership and communication workshops to strengthen ambassadorial skills.
- Active participation in flagship events such as Week of Welcome and New Student Orientations.
- Committee involvement (e.g., Content Creation, Social Media, Event Planning) based on individual strengths and interests.
