REPORTS TO: Sales Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:
To sell product directly to clients and provide follow up to meet company standards for exceptional levels of customer service. To consistently meet all other standards as outlined in this job description.

STATUS/HOURS OF WORK:
Full Time – Shift work (20+ Hours/week)
Weekend Availability Required/hours subject to change
Boxing week mandatory and special events

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Practice customer driven techniques to create and build sales of product, protections plan and utilizing financing options as a way to close sales.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures.
  • Be competent in sales bill entry, finance applications, room planner, inspiration centre, hub spot, website searching, and computer use as related to position.
  • Follow and understand the Up system. Follow guidelines for “Hector” system.
  • Be present for meetings, product knowledge sessions, training sessions and factory tours.
  • Assist clients with payment, pick-ups, service, cancellations, re-selections and rentals.
  • Follow up with all clients through e-thank-you cards, thank you for visiting emails and after purchase emails, status reports and run sheets follow ups next day
  • Always display a positive and professional attitude.
  • Interact in a professional manner with all co-workers, management, and clients.
  • Meet with managers for regular one on one meetings.
  • Be a team player.
  • Create room plans, and design and space planning for client homes.

JOB TASKS:

  • Arrive at work 15 minutes prior to the start of your shift. Walk the showroom to ensure that your assigned zone is properly maintained.
  • Continually assist in maintaining the integrity and organization of the showroom, lunchroom, sales backroom and TV’s on and off.
  • Help customers achieve their dream of having a beautiful home through design.
  • Review monthly goals and accomplishments with Sales Manager at the beginning of each month.
  • Meet minimum standards for sales and protection plans as outlined by Sales Manager.
  • Where protection plans are declined, client’s signature is required on every invoice.
  • Follow up with clients; thank you emails for every invoice before the end of your shift on the day of sale; call or e-mail to thank your clients within 3 days of delivery/pick up date. Thank you for visiting store emails.
  • Carry the appropriate tools including tape measure, pen, notepad, and sketchbook.
  • Always be aware of your average sale, your sales volume, closing rate and protection plan percentage.
  • Check inventory and advise clients on correct approximate delivery times and price.
  • Ensure that price tags are never removed from sleeves.
  • Complete “sold” tags or “rental” tags completely and accurately.
  • Close sales at the advertised promotions.
  • Complete sales bills accurately and thoroughly, including notes and stamps.
  • Attend and participate in Sales Team Saturday morning meetings.
  • Participate in Sales Team Contests.
  • Park in appropriate areas.
  • Inform Sales Managers if required to work on a project away from the sales floor
  • Assist managers in various duties upon request and availability.
